REVIEW OF PHUTURE BEATZ 2ND BIRTHDAY, 21/6/14
I25 years entertaining the underground music industry covering just about every genre and spectrum, i was always intrigued to what the famous doncaster warehouse experience was all about, only one way to find out! myself and two mates ventured upon the 40 miles northern journey from nottingham city into unknown territory for our first phuture beatz and there 2nd birthday.
we pulled up in a safe free car park opposite the venue at 10.45pm and could hear the system pounding out, greeted on the door by very friendly security and dizstruxshon legend himself stuart walker. walking into the venue we couldn't see the dancefloor and spent a while greeted by some fantastic ravers dj's & mc's. wondered to the bar area where drinks were reasonable and the bar ladies demanded a quick dance with everyone before serving them, making great entertainment with a difference and a smile.
walking on it felt like i'd stept into the crown jewels of raving, from entering the venue i felt very relaxed and straight at home. onto the dancefloor walking past random flashing traffic lights, lovely uv hanging decor and onto a wooden stompin full dancefloor, such and old skool feel with a modern vibe that crossed all generations and zero attitude, yeah i felt at home! skandal b2b blackout was ripping it up perfectly reversebass style and everyone was having that blasting through them with a crisp impressive speaker system banked up either side of the mc stage, i loved the lazer penetrating the crowd and smoke smothering a darkened dancefloor to perfection.

it was the extras that made it special, like seeing a column post decorated as a refresher sweets wrapper and the big double decker bus in the smoke garden was unique.
Topgroove was on in the main arena and wow what a set he played. The warehouse was right up for this and everyone was grinning from ear to ear, you get exactly what it say's on the tin with topgroove, and he didn't hold back the old skool classics that hit the spot every time, it was a absolute joy to see the ravers go menta when brainchild was dropped.
The night hosted a rare import of international talent and italy's finest trance generator, he made the hairs on my neck stand up with a 90 min early hardstyle set that i will never forget, i love a difference on a night out and so far this had excelled. The other thing i'd never witnessed before was a dj called amethyst playing hardcore but had a guitar plugged into the set up with beautiful guitar rifts flowing out live amongst the crowd, marc smith played a blinder and kept the dancefloor moving.
Elsewere there toilets were clean and accessible and you could feel every thump of bass and every riff clear as bells, i have to big up synergy as he has got this venue rocking in full effect. Mic levels were just right and the legendary northern mc's of natz, space and synergy flowed it and hosted it perfectly, you could also feel the place erupt to to the old skool here mc's in E.LL & ERUPTION, and boy have they still got it! loved by the crowd here, it's a joy to the raver and credit to the scene so see successful positive nights like this.
Well done to the reavers, dancing staff, promoters, dj's and mc's you made this an incredible experience, you've raised the bar here very high and i have no doubt that this is the ground level to something big and strong within the coming years, will i be back from nottingham on october 4th? YES you hit my spot 110% (REVIEW BY DANIEL MILLINGTON)
